MENTORING – The Path to Teaching Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga is a method based on personal guidance, precise practice, and systematic study.
The Mentorship Program – Learn to Teach – is designed for students who feel called to share yoga thoughtfully, ethically, and with deep understanding.

Teaching in the Iyengar tradition rests on three pillars.

1. Long-term personal practice

2. Study with a certified teacher

3. Mentoring – individual guidance, observation, and assistance

Only their integration creates a solid foundation for a high-quality teaching career.

Who the Mentorship Program is for

    • Students with a regular Iyengar Yoga practice (for the entry-level year) — if this isn’t suitable, you can first try the Mentorship module.
    • Students with a minimum of 3 years of practice (for Mentoring, Level 1 and above)

    • Individuals interested in pursuing a future teaching path and certification

    • Teachers of other styles seeking the precise methodology of the Iyengar system

    • Anyone who wants to teach or practice with respect, sensitivity, and depth.

Flexibility and an Individual Path

The Iyengar Yoga education system is designed to be flexible and respectful of individual development.
A student’s path can naturally evolve over time — from the Intensive Yearly Course, through the Mentorship module, to the three-year program leading to teacher certification.
If a student feels the need to deepen their journey or move to a more advanced level during their studies, a transition is possible.
An individual consultation and mutual agreement with the instructor ensure that the next step is safe, sustainable, and aligned with the student’s needs and life circumstances.
