Navaratri – nine nights of inner strength and transformation
Navaratri is one of the most important festivals of the Indian spiritual tradition. The name means “nine nights”, and this period is dedicated to the aspects of feminine energy – Shakti. Each day represents a different quality of consciousness and a different form of the goddess Durga.
Navaratri is traditionally a time of purification, prayer, meditation, mantra chanting and returning to oneself. In many traditions, these days are lived with a simpler routine, more conscious work with the body and mind, and shared chanting of mantras.
This year during Navaratri, we will meet online every morning to chant together.

During Navaratri, we use chanting as a way to calm the mind, open our attention and connect with a deeper layer of perception. In the spiritual tradition, a mantra is considered a vibration that helps direct consciousness, cultivate energy and create inner stability. Repeating mantras during these nine days supports concentration, a meditative state and a more conscious experience of the whole period of transformation and purification.
From a neurological point of view, chanting has a direct effect on the nervous system. A prolonged exhalation, the vibration of the voice and the rhythmic repetition of sounds stimulate the vagus nerve, which is connected to the parasympathetic nervous system. As a result, the body gradually shifts from stress activation into a state of greater calm, safety and regeneration.
Regular chanting can support:
- a calmer nervous system
- deeper and slower breathing
- better emotional regulation
- the ability to concentrate
- a sense of grounding and stability
- a greater connection with yourself and with the group
In addition, a shared voice and rhythm create an experience of shared space, which can be very supportive and healing – on both the mental and the physical level.
The course will take place with a minimum of 8 participants. Subject to change.
